Just invested in a lash lift? Don't ruin it in the first day. The initial 24 hours after your Korean glueless lash lift are the most critical for locking in your curl and ensuring long-lasting, beautiful results. This window allows the keratin treatment to fully set and the perm solution to cure completely on your natural lashes. Proper aftercare protects your investment, prevents damage, and is the final, essential step of the service you receive at our Buena Park studio. This guide walks you through hour-by-hour care, what's normal, and how to transition to long-term maintenance.

Neglecting aftercare can lead to a weakened curl, uneven results, or premature relaxation of the lift. By following these specific guidelines, you directly support the health of your natural lashes and maximize the longevity of your service, whether you chose our classic K-Lash Lift, the popular option with a Black Tint, or our advanced PermPoint combo.

Why the First 24 Hours Are Non-Negotiable

Think of your newly lifted lashes as freshly permed hair. The chemical structure of the lash has been gently reshaped, and the integrated keratin treatment is bonding to the protein. This process continues for a full day post-treatment.

During this time, the lashes are more vulnerable to moisture, heat, and friction, which can alter the setting process. Keeping them completely dry and untouched allows the new shape to harden into place. This is not just a suggestion, it is a procedural requirement for the technique to work as designed.

Your Complete 24-Hour Aftercare Checklist

Adhere to these rules strictly from the moment you leave our studio to ensure flawless results.

Keep Lashes Completely Dry

Do Not Touch, Rub, or Manipulate Lashes

Avoid All Eye Area Products

Sleep Smartly

Pro Tip: A silk or satin pillowcase isn't just luxurious, it significantly reduces friction against your lashes while you sleep, helping to maintain their perfect shape from day one.

What to Expect: Normal Sensations vs. Red Flags

It is normal to feel a slight, vague tightness or awareness of the lashes for a few hours after the procedure. You might also notice your lashes feeling slightly stiffer than usual as the keratin sets. This sensation typically fades quickly.

However, you should not experience pain, significant itching, burning, redness, or swelling. These are not normal and could indicate an adverse reaction, though they are exceedingly rare with our glueless lift method since no adhesive touches your natural lash bed. If you experience any discomfort, contact the studio immediately.

After 24 Hours: Transitioning to Long-Term Care

Once the critical first day has passed, you can resume most normal activities, but with continued care for your lashes.

You may gently wet your lashes after 24 hours. When cleansing, use a oil-free makeup remover and a soft, lint-free pad, swiping gently downward along the lash growth, not side-to-side. You can learn more about integrating lash care into your routine in our guide, Glueless Lash Lifts: The Sensitive Eye Solution.

For lifted lashes without extensions, you can use water-based mascara if desired, but it is often unnecessary. For PermPoint clients with point extensions, continue to avoid oil-based products near the eyes to maintain the LED bond. Service-Specific Aftercare Notes

For K-Lash Lift with Keratin or + Black Tint

The core 24-hour dry rule is paramount. The black tint is also setting during this time. The keratin treatment continues to condition the lashes, so avoiding oils helps it absorb properly.

For PermPoint (Glueless Lift + LED Point Extensions)

All standard rules apply, with extra emphasis on avoiding oils and not picking at the point extensions. The LED glue bonding the extensions requires 24 hours to reach its full cure strength. Remember, PermPoint is our combined service for clients needing extra length, density, or a reshaped silhouette.

Comparing Aftercare Across Lash Services

Understanding how aftercare differs helps set the right expectations. The table below outlines key differences between a traditional lash extension service and our glueless lift techniques.

Aftercare Factor Traditional Lash Extensions (with glue) Korean Glueless Lash Lift & PermPoint at Lashkin
Critical Dry Period 24-48 hours for adhesive cure 24 hours for perm solution & keratin set
Primary Risk Glue dissolving from oils/moisture; allergic reaction to adhesive Moisture altering the curl before it sets
Mascara Use Not recommended, can cause clumping Optional (water-based) after 24 hrs on lifts; not needed for PermPoint
Long-Term Product Avoidance Oil-based products near eyes No specific long-term bans for lift-only; oil-free advised for PermPoint bonds
Touch-Up/Refill Cadence Required every 2-3 weeks Not required; curl lasts 6-8 weeks. We offer a complimentary touch-up within 10 days if needed.

Currently, our studio policy provides a complimentary adjustment within 10 days of your initial service if any lash did not take the curl perfectly, acknowledging that aftercare is a shared responsibility. After 10 days and up to 3 weeks, a small $30 adjustment fee applies.

Answers to Common Aftercare Questions

Can I get my lashes wet after 12 hours?

No. The full 24-hour period is required. The setting process is chemical, not just about surface drying, and needs the full time.

What if I accidentally get them wet?

Gently pat the area dry with a clean, lint-free towel. Do not rub. The curl may soften or relax slightly, but the lashes are not damaged. Contact us to discuss a possible adjustment within the complimentary window.

When can I work out?

Avoid strenuous exercise that causes heavy sweating for the first 24 hours. After that, light exercise is fine, but be mindful of sweat. Wiping sweat away from the eyes promptly is recommended.

How do I brush my lashes?

Wait at least 48 hours before using a clean spoolie to gently brush lashes upward. For PermPoint, brush gently to avoid dislodging point extensions. Proper preparation is just as important as aftercare, which is detailed in our Korean Glueless Lash Lift Pre-Care Guide for Perfect Results.

Protecting Your Investment for Long-Lasting Results

Following this 24-hour protocol is the best way to ensure you enjoy your results for the full 6-8 week lifespan of the lift. It protects the time and artistry invested in your service. Remember, the glueless technique prioritizes the health of your natural lashes, and proper aftercare is the final step in that commitment.

If you have any concerns during the first day, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you through the entire process, from your initial Lash Lift Consultation to enjoying your final, beautiful results.
